N3School / Admissions
Admissions
A new child should not start as a loose form.
Admission day is a queue, a form, and a number someone will still be calling out in March. N3School keeps that number, the class, and the documents on the child from the first day.
- The school’s own number
- Class on the record
- Papers stay with the child
The register and the form drift apart.
A new admission is written once in a register and again on a form that gets filed in a different cupboard. By the time fees start, the office is no longer sure which number belongs to the child.
At the end of the year the same problem returns. Promoting a class on paper does not say where that child sat last year, and a child who leaves is still mixed into today’s list.
From the form to a child the office can find.
The order the office already works in. N3School keeps each step on the child, the class, or the school — so the next person does not start again.
- 01The numberLedger number or admission number — whichever the school already calls out.
- 02The classThe child is placed in a class the school has set up.
- 03The papersPhoto and documents sit on that child, not in a separate file.
- 04The year afterPromotion moves the class and keeps the earlier year on the record.
The number
Use the number the office already trusts.
Some schools run on a ledger number. Some run on an admission number. N3School follows the one the school chose, so search, bills, and the printed page all answer to the same call.
- Search by that number
- Bills and receipts use it
- The printed page shows it
Promotion
Moving up a year should not erase last year.
When a class is promoted, the child moves to the next class and the year they just finished stays on the record. A child in the last class can be marked passed out without being deleted.
- Next class is the next class
- The finished year remains
- Passed out is not the same as deleted
Who has left
Today’s list is only the children still in school.
A child who has left should not keep appearing when the office looks for who to bill or who to mark. The record remains, and the working list is the children who are here.
- Active list for the day
- Left children stay findable
- Fees and attendance follow the child who is here
Who feels it
Built for the people in this part of the day.
The same record, used differently. Nobody has to keep a private copy so their part of the job still works.
- The officeOne place to put a new child, instead of a form that never meets the register.
- The class teacherThe child is already in the class when attendance and marks begin.
- The parentThe number on the receipt is the number the school gave at admission.
The rest of the day
